im losing track of the movies i've watched recently.
let me just recap for my own amusement because i'm refusing to listen to some old man's soundbite at work:

1) paranormal activity: made me feel like puking
not seeing anything on the screen = not scary.

2) This is IT: totally cannot tell that michael jackson was 50 years old. his dancers are damn hawt! and the effects prepared for the concert were really great! but got boring after a while and we dozed off. but it's still amazing how his songs doesn't sound dated at all.
BEAT IT!

2) 2012: great effects. but movie was too long with lousy pacing.
no jake gyllenhaal = the movie more unbearable than the day after tomorrow.

3) capitalism: a love story: pretty good! michael moore made documentaries sexy.
but couldn't stand it when he interviewed pastor who said god doesn't approve of capitalism.
fail.

4) julie/julia: who would think that a movie about cooking can be so... entertaining?
meryl streep is... amazing! she's damn funny la.
and old people having sex gives me the lolz.
the young cook is damn whiny and annoying though.
the movie probably could have worked without the blogger story.

5) Lesbian vampire killer: TOTALLY OVER THE TOP AND HILARIOUS WITH LOTSA BOOBIES!!!
highly highly recommended!!!!!!!!!!

6) Love happens: stupid rom com which is so predictable and boring and not funny, it's not even funny.

7) Gamer: it's actually not bad leh. somehow the review is bad.
got gerard butler leh. and mtv-style filming with lotsa shoot-out. although it's a bit stale lah... like a matrix ripoff with more sex. since they are talking about controlling deathrow inmates and let them fight to death in a computer game.
concept is good but somehow hollywood ruined it. :(

8) District 9: watched this on dvd in shanghai(ahem)
regretted watching it on dvd because it is simply awesome!!!!
feels so sad for the poor guy who is becoming an alien.
and since when the alien becomes such a big protagonist in a movie?
nice.

9) (500) days of summer: watched this on dvd in penang (ahem)
supposed to be nice right.
but way too tired after one whole day of eating.
dozed off ard the 300th day.
since then haven't try to re-watch it.

10) september issue: dvd at home (ahem)
hmmmm. couldn't finish watching.
somehow it got boring after a while.
hmmm.
actually i'm a straight man in disguise.
